As an illustrator I explore relationships. Sometimes I work with natural resources such as flora and fauna. In other works I tap into my love of history. Color is a major aspect of my work, and when in an abstract mode this is of great importance. I work across many media and into the 3-dimensional area with paper-sculpture, often mixing them together.
Born in England, I trained in the art college system which allowed me to work in studio art for 4 years, across a wide variety of media and disciplines.
After a year in teacher training I taught high school in the UK for 29 years.
On coming to the US in 1990, I worked from home, but eventually took a job teaching at Tyler Junior College in Texas.
I teach drawing and painting among other things and find the work both enjoyable and fulfilling.
I have exhibited in both the UK and the US, in solo and group shows, but find that teaching leaves less time for such activities.
I am motivated enough to keep on working, and like to sometimes include current events into my work. A recent piece of work named
"Labyrinths of War" comments on man's perpetual involvement with conflict.
I am represented in the 2006 edition of Who's Who in America.
